It’s officially fall in NYC and I know that for many of us, the dip in temperature has us running to our vast selection of cozy black clothing.
Which I totally get of course.
Black and darker colors in general, are easy go-to’s and sometimes very fitting of our mood during this season. But this fall/winter season I really wanted to try and help inspire you (and myself) with some creative ways you can add a little more life to your wardrobe.
So prepare yourself pretty lady, cause we’re about to get into some cool and unique ways you can add + mix patterns with your clothing, to take your winter wardrobe from super dull to super fun!
Combine inverse colors
Like a garment with a black base and white pattern and a garment with a white base and black pattern.
Wear the same print in different colors/shades of the same color family
A good rule of thumb when pairing different colors is to choose colors that opposite each other on the color wheel.
Wear the same print in different sizes
Wear 2 different prints but in the same color.
Wear 3 vibrant prints together
Be sure 2 of the patterns share colors that are complimentary to each other (opposite on color wheel) and make the 3rd pattern a neutral.
How do you feel about wearing patterns?
Do you love them, experiment with them from time-to-time, or stay away from them all together?
Fill me in on your thoughts/experiences about wearing patterns this season, and if you found this post helpful, please don’t forget to share it with a friend who you think would enjoy it as much as you.
And as always, let me know if you have any questions below <3
